Sound Bath Assistant & Sadhu Nails Enthusiast

Brief info

Before sound journeys you will usually see me standing on some nails, or Sadhu boards as they are known, to help quieten my mind in preparation. It brings me a deep sense of relaxation which can be almost trance like. I become more receptive, so the sounds bath that follows is often a much deeper experience.

As I struggle with mediation and turning off my Monkey Mind, I find that nails & nidra (yoga nidra) compliments the Sound Journey perfectly.

You are invited to experience the nails for yourself either before or after Sound Baths at Charlton Marshall village hall. I can guide you through them or you can try without any input from me if preferred. .

The nails won`t puncture the skin & I will have sanitising wipes on hand if you wish.

Below is a brief explanation of Sadhu practice , how it relates to The Yoga Sutras & my own experiences nurturing inner strength and clarity by finding comfort in the discomfort:

Sadhu nails refer to the nails on a Sadhu board, a traditional Indian tool used for meditation and acupressure. Individuals stand on the upward-pointing nails of the board to stimulate pressure points in their feet, which can promote relaxation, improve circulation, strengthen the immune system, and enhance mental discipline and pain tolerance. The practice involves standing for short periods, gradually increasing time, and using breathing techniques to manage the initial intensity of discomfort.

Benefits of Sadhu Board Practice
Acupressure: Stimulates pressure points in the feet, similar to a foot massage.
Mental Discipline: Develops mental discipline, emotional steadiness, and tolerance for discomfort.
Physical Well-being: Can improve blood and lymph circulation, potentially relieve muscle spasms and fatigue, and boost the immune system.
Emotional Release: Some believe it can help release suppressed emotions and stress.
Increased Energy: Practitioners often report feeling rejuvenated and energized.
